I thought that I would take a few years off after undergrad, work in a functional imaging lab, pay off some student debt, and live a little.
I thought, that by working in a functional imaging lab, I'd get to learn about ... FUNCTIONAL IMAGING.
Oh was I wrong.
I walked into managing a clinical trial that, until my 2nd month, they didn't know was a clinical trial. I walked into fixing three years of mismanaged protected health information (PHI) that was loosely organized by three previous research coordinators. I walked into a boss who, rather than fix the project to comply, wants to argue with the auditors and me about the steps we're taking (which will save his ass).
I'm not learning about neuroimaging.
Oh, and two weeks ago, faulty wiring in our rental sparked an electrical fire that left us homeless and killed our cat.
WHAT THE HELL DID I SIGN MYSELF UP FOR?
